On May 2007 The members of BOHA called on retired Buffalo Police officer Katie Martin-Appleford to assist with putting together the first ever Rochester Area Fallen Officer Memorial Softball tournament. Martin-Appleford, had been one of the key players behind the Buffalo Police long running Fallen Officer Memorial Society Softball tournament.
BOHA's plan for the Rochester version of the tournament, would feature a softball tournament ,motorcycle pride ride, area vendors, food and beverage tents and childrens activities .The tournament was loosely referred to as "Copapolooza". The 1st ever Copapolooza was held on August 24th, 2007 at Cobbs Hill Park in Rochester N.Y. Eight (8) local Law Enforcement Softball teams were involved and approximately 200 people took part in the festivities.
On August 9th, 2008 BOHA held the 2nd annual Copapolooza at Cobbs Hill Park. This time the softball tournament saw an increase and featured 20 local Law enforcement softball teams, 15 vendors, 4 live bands, food, beverage tents, childrens activities, and very successful first ever BOHA donut eating contest. The event drew over 1200 people and officers from over 15 different area law enforcement agencies. Proceeds from the event benefited BOHA and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
